Overview
A prestigious downtown New York City law firm is seeking a highly experienced Chief of Staff / Senior Executive Administrator to support firm leadership and oversee core administrative, operational, and organizational functions. This role serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership, helping drive efficiency, execution, and communication across the firm. The ideal candidate brings a strong legal or professional services background, impeccable judgment, and the ability to manage complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a trusted right hand to senior leadership, providing high-level administrative and operational support
• Act as a liaison between partners, attorneys, firm management, and external stakeholders
• Manage complex calendars, meeting scheduling, and logistics for leadership, including partner meetings and firm-wide initiatives
• Drive execution of strategic initiatives by tracking priorities, deadlines, and deliverables across departments
• Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, reports, and presentations for internal and external use
• Oversee administrative workflows and help optimize firm processes and procedures
• Support onboarding, internal communications, and coordination of firm events and meetings
• Handle highly confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
• Assist with special projects, operational planning, and ad-hoc initiatives as needed
Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in a senior administrative, executive assistant, chief of staff, or operations role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
• Proven experience supporting senior executives, partners, or C-level leadership
• Strong understanding of law firm operations, culture, and professional standards (preferred)
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to anticipate needs, think strategically, and operate with minimal supervision
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools; experience with legal or professional services systems is a plus
